Our vision is a world with diverse and equitable societies that value and actively regenerate nature. To turn this into reality, our strategy lies in co-creation. Justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) are baked into everything we do.
During 2024, we began working on an internal guide to support better implementation of these values at programme level. The guide was designed to support our staff in navigating this liminal space and to help us in our work, considering the range of stakeholders. Towards the end of the year, we also held a social justice workshop complemented by an anti-oppression e-learning programme made available to all Unearthodox staff. This helped us unpack foundational definitions and perceptions around oppression, privilege and intersectionality. This work continues in 2025 as groundwork for a broader organisational framework.
As part of our ongoing commitment to embed regenerative practices within Unearthodox, we have continued to integrate insights from our collaboration with Greaterthan on regenerative organising. In September 2024, we co-hosted "Remote teams, regeneration and the role of place", a public dialogue exploring how globally distributed teams can stay rooted in place-based values. The session, which featured organisations like Climate Farmers and Thrivable World, generated a collective mural of insights and inspired further reflection.
Internally, we experimented with practices such as Pomodoro cycles, walking meetings, and place-based reflection, co-designed with Anna Kopacz and Francesca Pick. We also welcomed Ashish Arora from Greaterthan into our research community; he now contributes to our Anthology of Regenerative Futures, and joined our Regenerative Futures retreat. These efforts reflect our commitment to "walking the talk", bringing regenerative thinking into how we work, learn and organise, including the design of our innovation challenge and our evolving reflections on care, justice, and the conditions for thriving.
